WILDFIRE ON DEESIDE

foam on the hotspots

The dry and sunny late March weather brought risk of wildfire. Two Fridays in a row saw us on Feughside, helping estate staff and firefighters put out fires. The second one burned for a while, and we were there until the following Sunday suppressing hotspots, using foam.

The return of cooler weather is welcomed by us: fire risk is down, we no longer have the evening patrols looking for smoke, and spring can do its usual thing.
