DESIGN AWARD FOR GLEN TANAR

http://www.glentanar.co.uk/walking_cycling.html

The footbridge over the Tanar, at the foot of Mount Keen, has won a design award.
Working with Upper Deeside Access Trust, Glen Tanar Estate undertook the public consultation, and paid particular attention to environmental impacts.
The upper reaches of the Tanar form important salmon spawning grounds, so water quality is of the utmost importance.
The bridge provides a safe crossing point for Munroists, and walkers and mountain bikers traversing the Mounth.

ICELANDIC VISITORS

As they have only recently established their woodland, the issue of forest fire had not occurred to them: they were therefore intrigued by the work done in Glen Tanar on wildfire management.
